My interest is based on the fact that I have a picture of my father and one of his comrades both standing beside the Kinugawa Maru back in 1942-43. If you would like to include the attached photo in your website, I offer it to you freely, as long as you include my father's name beneath it.
My father is the man on the left, George Lee Peters, wearing the pith helmet. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, 25th Signal Company. He was on Guadalcanal from November 1942 through July 1943, and then again from October 1944 through August 1945.
The man on the right is a sergeant, I believe by the name of Striker.
